We help teams see their projects clearly and act on that clarity
Cindermark is a Kuala Lumpur-based advisory firm. We work with Malaysian organisations to build project management structures that are practical, proportionate and genuinely useful.
Back to HomeA small firm with a straightforward focus
Cindermark started with a simple observation: many Malaysian organisations were running more projects than their existing processes could support. Teams were working hard, but without shared structure, progress was difficult to track and decisions were made without a full picture.
We set out to address that gap — not by introducing heavy project management frameworks, but by helping organisations build structures matched to their actual situation. Our work is advisory in nature. We ask questions, listen carefully, and propose approaches that fit the people and systems already in place.
Based in TTDI, Kuala Lumpur, we work with firms across Malaysia on engagements that range from a two-week readiness review to a six-month retainer supporting a project office as it develops. The scope always matches the need.
Our view is that a project management office should make things clearer, not add complexity. We hold that position in every engagement we take on.
Our mission
To help organisations manage their projects with greater clarity — through structures that are built to last and easy for teams to actually use.
Our approach
We work closely with whoever is responsible for delivery in your organisation. We don't replace them — we make the structures around them easier to navigate and maintain.
Where we work
Our base is in Kuala Lumpur. Most of our engagements can be conducted remotely, with site visits where helpful. We have worked with teams in various Malaysian states.
The team behind the work
Each member brings experience from delivering and managing projects in Malaysian organisations across different sectors.
Siti Rahayu
Principal Consultant
Siti has spent twelve years working with project teams in the financial and infrastructure sectors across Malaysia. She leads most of our readiness assessment and design engagements.
Faizal Hamid
Advisory Consultant
Faizal focuses on toolkit development and the practical side of reporting design. He joined Cindermark after several years managing multi-team delivery programmes within a large Malaysian conglomerate.
Nurul Lyana
Engagement Coordinator
Nurul manages scheduling, client communications and the administrative side of our retainer arrangements. She keeps engagements on track and clients well-informed throughout.
Standards we maintain across all engagements
These aren't policies for a certificate — they're the habits that keep our work reliable and our clients informed.
Written deliverables
Every engagement produces documentation your teams can use and keep. We don't rely on verbal handovers or slide presentations as the sole output.
Agreed scope and schedule
We confirm scope, deliverables and timing before any engagement begins. If something changes, we surface it early rather than let it drift.
Confidentiality
Client information, internal processes and organisational details shared during engagements are kept strictly confidential. We formalise this at the start of each arrangement.
Regular communication
We provide updates at agreed intervals and flag concerns before they become problems. Clients shouldn't have to chase us for a status update.
Proportionate recommendations
We recommend only what a client's situation calls for. We won't propose a large engagement when a small one would be more appropriate.
Post-engagement review
At the close of each engagement, we review what was delivered against what was intended. We use this to improve our process and to make sure clients leave with what they needed.
What guides the way we work
Project management office advisory in Malaysia covers a broad range of situations — from organisations that have never had a shared project structure to those that have tried several approaches and found none of them quite right. Cindermark positions itself at the practical end of this range: we are not here to implement a methodology so much as to help each organisation find the structure that actually works for its people.
We pay attention to how decisions get made within a firm, who carries the weight of project coordination day to day, and what kind of reporting senior leadership finds useful versus what gets filed away unread. These details matter more than which template is in use. Our design and toolkit work starts from observation before it arrives at recommendation.
Longer-term advisory arrangements are built around regular conversations and working notes. The rhythm is steady by design. Organisations benefit more from consistent, measured support than from intensive engagement followed by silence. Ownership stays with the client's teams from the beginning — our role is to make that ownership easier to exercise, not to hold it ourselves.
Cindermark serves firms of various sizes across Malaysia, with particular familiarity in sectors where multiple concurrent projects are the norm — property development, infrastructure, technology services and professional advisory. We bring relevant experience without bringing assumptions; each engagement starts from where the client actually is.
